Your fair share of opportunities

JobFair 2016

17th to 19th May at FEE & FCIS

Brochure

What is JobFair?

As the name states, it is indeed a job fair, which we are organizing for the ninth' year in a row. Its main purpose is to encourage cooperation among students, companies and faculties. Every year we cooperate with a wide spectrum of diverse companies that show interest in students even in their study years. We collaborate with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, as well as the Faculty of Computer and Information Science. This year, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering will host booth presentations of companies where students will have the possibility to learn what the companies do and get information about potential jobs, internship positions and scholarships.

At the same time, interesting lectures and soft skills trainings will take place (e.g. how to write a CV, give feedback, work in a group etc.), in which participants will gain valuable knowledge, beneficial when looking for a job but also in everyday life. Once again speed dating will be held, which will give the students five minutes to convince company representatives that they are the perfect candidates for their company. The event will conclude with a round table of invited speakers who will discuss various relevant topics for tomorrow's future.

Are you a student, ready for new challenges? Come and prove to yourself that you have it in you to succeed!

Programme

BOOTH PRESENTATIONS

Individual companies will have booth presentations. Visitors can approach the company and learn about what it does, discuss employment possibilities and exchange contacts. The system has proven to be successful and students are often able to land internships, scholarships or even a job.

LECTURES

The lectures will be held by successful companies. Listeners will hear more about the company itself, future technology trends, different paths to success and skills required of young graduates.

WORKSHOPS

Participants will master some basic soft skills, which are crucial for a successful career, such as teamwork, time management, project management, body language etc.

SPEED DATING

Speed dating is a unique opportunity for both students and employers or managers of successful companies to get to know one another within five minutes. Even if participants don't end up with a new job, they make acquaintances with influential individuals, which can greatly benefit them in the future.

JOBFAIR OVER THE YEARS

  • JobFair 2007

The idea about a fair, which would connect students, companies and faculties, became a reality: JobFair was born!

  • JobFair 2008

After a very successful first edition JobFair was becoming a traditional event!

  • JobFair 2010

Don't worry, JobFair took place every study year, the date was just moved from the winter semester to the summer one.

  • JobFair 2011

Because of the incredible interest and positive feedback on previous editions we decided to have JobFair last for four days!

  • JobFair 2012

The fifth edition served with the good old mix of booth presentations and lectures, which left nobody disappointed!

  • JobFair 2013

Everybody knows how important informal knowledge is, which is why we, along with the University's Career Centres, organized workshops on how to write a CV or a motivation letter, and how to prepare a personal presentation or an elevator pitch!

  • JobFair 2014

The first edition of Speed dating met with success, as did the round table discussion, hosted by the well-known reporter and TV host Uroš Slak!

  • JobFair 2015

The first JobFair that took place in two locations at once, due to the separation of the two faculties. The concept was preserved despite its difficulties and is further improved every year!
